Travel Theme: Parks

Ailsa’s, ( Where’s my Backpack? ) travel theme of the week is parks.  I am cheating just a bit and going with a National Monument: Canyon De Chelly in Arizona which is entirely within the boundaries of the Navajo Nation and is jointly administered by the Navajo Nation and the National Park Service. It was the home of the people who have been called the Anasazi, a term coined by the Navajo, or The Ancient Pueblo People which is the preferred name used by the current Pueblo people such as the Hopi and Zuni.

Many years ago now, Katherine and I traveled there, staying at the Thunderbird Lodge.  We took an all day horse ride to White House ruins. A few photos of the day. Again a fast and cheap scan on my very old HP all-in-one.

If you would like to see the White House ruin through a different set of eyes, a gentleman by the name of Ansel Adams took a few snaps back in the day…
